Fall

Technical Evaluation and Internship

In June, 2023, Sam graduated from Moody Aviation with a degree in Missionary Aviation Technology with an emphasis in flight. This degree includes a commercial pilots license (with IFR Rating) and and Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance Licnese.

We are now awaiting his technical evaluation in North Carolina, which should happen in the Fall of 2023. We must also complete an internship, which will take place in September of 2023. We have the amazing opportunity to join Mission Safety International on a safety audit for Missao Do Ceu, the mission aviation organization that we will be working under in Brazil. Sam will work as a translator during the safety audit while simultaneously learning about how to be a safety auditor; a very important role in aviation!

2024

Spring

Pre-field Standardization & Orientation in North Carolina

In the Spring of 2024 we will spend a few months in North Carolina at JAARS headquarters. JAARS is the aviation arm of Wycliffe, a global ministry to the most remote people groups in the world. JAARS provides a world class pre-field standardization and orientation program that we will attend as a final preparation before launching to Brazil to join the team at Missao do Ceu. In addition to advanced technical training, they also provide cross-cultural training that will benefit our whole family. Fall

Move to brazil!

Assuming we successfully complete all the items above, and meet our fundraising goals, we will launch to Brazil in the Fall of 2024.
